Billing and renewals

Orders, billing cycles, renewal behavior, and refund basics.

4
Does BandwagonHost automatically charge for renewals?

No. BandwagonHost states that it does not store customer credit card or PayPal payment details and does not automatically charge those payment methods. Renewal invoices are usually generated before the due date. If the account balance is enough, the balance can be used to pay the invoice; otherwise you pay manually.

What should I do if I do not want to renew?

Cancel renewal for that service in the client area. When renewal is OFF, the service will be cancelled at expiration and no new renewal invoice should be sent. Back up your data before the service expires.

Can I request a refund after purchase?

Refunds are possible only under the official refund policy and are not unconditional. Common requirements include a new order, a request within 30 days, no abuse or payment dispute, no blacklisted IP issue caused after assignment, and monthly transfer below the policy threshold. If approved, services and data can be removed immediately.

Can I change the billing cycle later?

Future billing cycles can usually be changed from the client area without contacting support. Already generated or already paid invoices cannot be retroactively changed.

Plans and network routes

KVM, CN2 GIA, datacenter migration, SLA, and plan choice.

5
Is BandwagonHost using KVM, XEN, or OpenVZ?

Current BandwagonHost VPS plans use KVM and the KiwiVM control panel. KiwiVM provides power controls, reinstall, emergency console, rDNS, datacenter migration where available, snapshots, usage graphs, and API functions.

Which plan should a beginner choose?

For a light website or Linux learning, start with 20G or 40G KVM. If mainland China access matters, compare eCommerce, CN2 GIA, and CTGNet related plans. If the project targets mostly overseas users or the budget is tight, Basic VPS can be enough.

When is CN2 GIA or CTGNet worth it?

CN2 GIA and similar China-optimized routes are useful for latency-sensitive mainland China access, websites, meetings, remote work, and game-related scenarios. They cost more and capacity can be limited, so choose them when route quality matters.

Can every plan migrate to every datacenter?

No. KiwiVM supports datacenter migration only when the specific plan and location set allow it. Multi-location plans are usually more flexible; single-location or region-specific plans have stricter limits.

Do all plans include an SLA?

No. The official terms say the Service Level Agreement applies only to plans that clearly include SLA. Do not assume every VPS plan has SLA unless the product or invoice explicitly says so.

Operations and support

Self-managed service scope, OS images, backups, and troubleshooting.

4
Will official support install panels or fix my application?

Usually no. BandwagonHost VPS service is self-managed. Official support focuses on host and network level service issues, not installing software, configuring applications, restoring your own backups, or debugging application-layer problems.

Which operating systems are available?

The official VPS page lists common Linux distributions such as AlmaLinux, RockyLinux, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS Stream, and Fedora, plus bootable ISO options. The exact list depends on KiwiVM at the time of reinstall.

Should I rely on the provider as my only backup?

No. Keep your own off-server backups and test restore procedures. Provider-side storage redundancy is not a replacement for user-managed backups.

What should I check first if I cannot connect?

Start with KiwiVM power status, firewall rules, SSH port, and system network configuration. Then use tools such as ping, MTR, and public route tests to separate local configuration issues from route problems.

Rules and risk

Fair-share CPU usage, prohibited uses, IP blacklist issues, and account identity.

4
Can I run CPU at 100% or mine cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency mining is not allowed. Fair-share CPU policies also apply, especially for non-SLA plans. Long sustained CPU abuse can lead to throttling or service action.

Which uses can get a service suspended?

Common prohibited uses include spam, bulk mail abuse, attacks, malware, port scanning, mining, unlicensed financial platforms, copyright infringement, BitTorrent, open proxy, open DNS/NTP amplification sources, Tor exit nodes, adult content, scraping/data mining abuse, and KiwiVM API abuse.

Can I get a refund if the IP becomes blacklisted?

The official terms say IPs are checked before assignment, but an IP becoming blacklisted after assignment usually does not create a refund right. Datacenter migration may also be restricted while an IP is on a blacklist.

Can I use fake account details?

Do not. The official terms require accurate account holder and contact information. Invalid contact details can lead to suspension or termination, and accounts should not be transferred or sold.
